Campus Pride represents the only national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization for student leaders and campus groups working to create a safer college environment for LGBT students. The organization is a volunteer-driven network “for” and “by” students.

Campus Pride represents the leading national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization for student leaders and campus groups working to create a safer college environment for LGBT students. The organization is a volunteer-driven network “for” and “by” student leaders. The primary objective of Campus Pride is to develop necessary resources, programs and services to support LGBT and ally students on college campuses across the United States.

Founded in the Fall of 2001 and launched a year later in October of 2002, Campus Pride started as an online community and resource clearinghouse under the name Campus PrideNet. The original founding partners were M. Chad Wilson, Sarah E. Holmes & Shane L. Windmeyer. In 2006, the organization broadened its outreach efforts and restructured as the current educational non-profit organization Campus Pride. As part of the restructuring process, the Lambda 10 Project for LGBT Fraternity & Sorority Issues (www.lambda10.org) became an educational initiative of Campus Pride. Campus Pride serves LGBT and Ally student leaders and, or campus organizations in the areas of leadership development, support programs and services to create safer, more inclusive LGBT-friendly colleges and universities. It exists to develop, support and give “voice and action” in building future LGBT and ally student leaders.

Summer Leadership Camp

Finally the camp you have been waiting for! Campus Pride organizes the first-ever Summer Leadership Camp for LGBT and Ally college students. The five-day camp experience works to develop stronger undergraduate student leaders and safer, more LGBT-friendly colleges and universities. Participants have the opportunity to learn valuable campus organizing skills, coalition building and strategies for creating change at colleges and universities.

Campus Pride LGBT-Friendly College Fair Program

Campus Pride has developed the fairs as a public way for colleges to “come out” and recruit out LGBT students who are an important component to campus diversity. The fairs are also being held in coordination with the LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index (www.campusclimateindex.org), the only online resource of its kind that assists colleges and universities in learning ways to improve their LGBT campus life and helps prospective students find a national index listing of LGBT-friendly colleges and universities.

Lambda 10 Project

National Clearinghouse for GLBT Fraternity & Sorority Issues

The Lambda 10 Project – National Clearinghouse for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Fraternity & Sorority Issues is an educational initiative of Campus Pride and works to heighten the visibility of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender members of the college fraternity by serving as a clearinghouse for educational resources and educational materials related to sexual orientation and gender identity/expression.

Become A Stop The Hate Trainer

Stop The Hate is owned and operated by Campus Pride, the leading national nonprofit 501(c)3 for student leaders and campus groups working to create a safer college environment for LGBT students across the United States. The program was founded by Shane L. Windmeyer and was developed in parternship with the Anti-Defamation League, Association of College Unions International, The Southern Poverty Law Center, the Center for the Prevention of Hate Violence, the Matthew Shepard Foundation, Wilbron Institute and the Higher Education Center for Drug and Other Alcohol Abuse and Violence Prevention.

Q Research Institute for Higher Education (QRIHE pronounced “queery”)

The QRIHE’s primary purpose is to conceive, administer and support national research for LGBT issues in higher education. The QRIHE works to bring visibility and positive change addressing the needs of LGBT people at colleges and universities. The QRIHE supports the mission of Campus Pride to build future LGBT and Ally leaders and safer, more LGBT-friendly campus communities.

Voice & Action National Leadership Award

In partnership with Ernst & Young & OUTmedia, the Voice and Action National Leadership Award is an honorary recognition highlighting the outstanding accomplishments of young adult leaders at colleges and universities across the United States. The award is the only honor of its kind, focused on the work of undergraduate college students who are creating positive change for LGBT and ally issues within their campus communities, local communities and region of the country. The award is bestowed upon individuals who use their “voice” to speak up and take “action” to make a difference. The award also acknowledges the vital role nationally that young adult leaders play in the present and for the future of our movement for LGBT fairness and equality.
