Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride (Gay Pride) is currently celebrated each year to honor the 1969 Stonewall Riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall Riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.

  • NGLCC National Business & Leadership Conference(Palm Springs, CA) – The NGLCC conference is the largest LGBT business development event each year and brings together more than 900 LGBT and allied entrepreneurs, business owners, corporate representatives, and LGBT chamber leaders from across the country and around the globe.Attendees take part in three days of symposia, panel discussions, development seminars, and special events designed to generate business opportunities and build strong relationships with corporate champions and one another.   • Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair– The National LGBT Bar Association’s annual Lavender Law® Career Fair is designed to achieve a sense of community and inclusion for LGBT candidates within the legal profession’s recruiting efforts. By participating in this career fair, candidates will talk directly to LGBT-friendly recruiters from law firms, government agencies, LGBT rights groups, and corporate legal departments. Nearly 300 candidates and over 170 recruiters representing law firms, government agencies, and non-profit organizations interested in diversity were present at the 2016 career fair in Washington, DC.   • Gaze: Dublin Lesbian and Gay Film Festival – GAZE International LGBT Film Festival Dublin celebrates LGBT storytelling. Our exciting program of films and events engages filmmakers and audiences in a vibrant social experience. GAZE programs thematically to explore the many facets of LGBT lives worldwide, expressly including films which deal with the difficulties facing our LGBT sisters and brothers around the world and at home.  Dublin, Ireland; Aug 3-7, 2017
  • CSD Ruhr – The program includes an ecumenical service, a gay and lesbian film festival and the official Ruhr CSD party with a special edition of the legendary “Gay Happening.”  The dance floor was the central street party at Kennedy Square is just two minutes away on the flat market and presents House & pop with DJ Marauder. Essen, Germany; Aug 4-5, 2017
  • Brighton Pride – Brighton Pride is the UK’s biggest Pride Festival attracting visitors from all over the UK and the world to participate in the Community Parade and Park Festival. Brighton, UK; Aug 4-9, 2017
  • Gay Games – In 2018, Paris will host the 10th edition of the Gay Games. Paris, France; August 4-12, 2018

  • Reykjavik Gay Pride – The LGBTQ rights campaign in Iceland has a history of thirty years, a chronicle of struggle and victory almost unique in the world. From being an invisible group of an oppressed minority, the LGBTQ population in Iceland have now gained social and legal rights comparable to the best of its kind in the world.   • Antwerp Pride – Antwerp is probably one of the most open and tolerant cities in the world concerning gay rights and acceptation of the gay lifestyle. Although it’s a rather small city (population 600.000) it hosts numerous gay shops, venues and events, among them the famous Red & Blue night club, cruising bar The Boots and of course the Antwerp Pride weekend. Antwerp Pride is organized by a board of volunteers. Their goal is to unite social work and business in order to present Antwerp as the city of diversity with a rich gay scene.  Antwerp, Belgium; Aug 9-13, 2017
  • North Carolina Annual Gay and Lesbian Film Festival – The North Carolina Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (NCGLFF) is the second largest gay, lesbian and transgender film festival in the Southeast, attracting thousands of patrons yearly. Since its beginning in 1995, the Festival has featured a diverse array of shorts, documentaries, and feature films. The Durham Convention and Visitors Bureau named the NCGLFF a Signature Event for Durham, the highest honor bestowed on a cultural event or attraction by the organization. Durham, NC; Aug 10-13, 2017
  • Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival  – The Honolulu Gay & Lesbian Cultural Foundation (HGLCF) is honored to produce the 28th Annual Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival (HRFF28). It will be at the Doris Duke Theatre from August 10–19, 2017, culminating with our signature Red Carpet Event on August 19. There will also be a celebrity-hosted pool party fundraiser for HGLCF on August 20 in Waikiki. The HRFF is one of the longest-running LGBT film festivals in the country. VIPs this year are singer/actor/ RuPaul’s Drag Race judge: Todrick Hall, prominent civil rights activists Alexis Templeton, Oscar award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, and U.K. Olympic diving medalist Tom Daley. Honolulu, HI; Aug 10-19, 2017
  • Fierté Montréal – Montreal Pride reflects this reality by presenting each year the popular Pride Parade and Community Day and five days are devoted to a free cultural festival in the Place Émilie-Gamelin. The parade will take place on René-Lévesque Boulevard West, between rue Guy and Sanguinet. Montreal, QC; Aug 10-20, 2017
  • Vancouver Queer Film Festival – Celebrating the best in independent queer cinema, the Vancouver Queer Film Festival is Vancouver’s second largest film festival and the largest queer arts event in Western Canada. More than just film, the Festival hosts performances, workshops, panel discussions, parties and more, facilitating a unique community space for 11 days each August.   • CSD Magdeburg – The Christopher Street Day (CSD) is a party, commemoration, and demonstration by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. In Magdeburg, he is celebrated for many years – as a colorful and peaceful demonstration for equal rights and against their discrimination and exclusion. Magdeburg, Germany; Aug 11-26, 2017
  • Eugene/Springfield Pride Festival – Family and Friends – come one come all! A day-long event at Alton Baker Park featuring live entertainment, food, drinks, vendors, and fun. The Pride Celebration is a social venue for our LGBTQIA community. While it is primarily a community event, it also exists for families, friends, allies and guests from all over the Northwest.   • Northalsted Market Days – Northalsted Market Days® is the largest outdoor street festival in the Midwest! Famous for its vast array of national talent, unique vendors, arts, crafts, food and drink, Northalsted Market Days® gathers a crowd of over 180,000 people from across the globe to celebrate right here on Halsted Street.   • Copenhagen Pride – During Copenhagen Pride Week one of the scenic city squares of Copenhagen is transformed into Pride Square – a sanctuary for LGBT culture. Pride Square as a concept was born more than a decade ago – only then it was named Pride Village and was quite different from what we know today, with debates, a grand stage show and various shops offering food and goods. Copenhagen, Denmark; August 15–20, 2017
  • Rendezvous – Rendezvous is a 5-day gay campout in the Medicine Bow National Forest, between Laramie Wyoming and Cheyenne Wyoming. The Rendezvous Event provides a friendly, safe, LGBT-affirming environment for everyone, from everywhere. Pitch a tent, bring an RV and join us for 5-days of making new friends while celebrating Pride Wyoming Style. Activities include Games, Live Entertainment, Dancing, ATV trails (bring your own), Socializing and More. Rendezvous is the Rocky Mountain Region’s largest LGBT Pride Camping Event.   • CSD Lubeck – Christopher Street Day in Lübeck, every year gather over 1,500 lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transsexuals and many heterosexual friends and friends that have expressed their solidarity with the objectives of the Christopher Street Day, on the Obertrave and start from here to the greatest political event of Lübeck, if not Schleswig -Holsteins.  And for good reason: There are still people who do not meet the traditional role of wife or husband, met with open hostility, hidden discrimination, legal inequality, stubborn prejudices, old stereotypes and violent homo- or transphobia. The vociferous protest about the political and social grievances have for Lübeck’s queer community a tradition because this year draws Lübeck Pride for the 15th time through the historic center. Lubeck, Germany; Aug 18-19, 2017
  • Toledo Pride – As Northwest Ohio’s largest and most recognized event for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, and allied (LGBTQIA) community, Toledo Pride is pleased to invite you to become a sponsor of the annual Toledo Pride celebration!   • Durban Gay and Lesbian Film Festival – As an independent platform for filmmakers from South Africa and across the world to specifically deal with issues relating to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Intersexed (LGBTI) community, the DGLFF will showcase new and innovative motion pictures, documentaries, shorts and related productions whilst conducting workshops, debates and talks on past LGBTI movies, productions processes, film writing and how the visual medium affects and is affected by the pink community across the world.   • Southern Decadence –  Southern Decadence started forty-four years ago as a simple going-away party. As a top gay Labor Day Weekend destination, it has evolved into one of our world’s major annual events.   • ELLA, the “International Lesbian Festival” – In addition to a planned film festival, it includes a conference with international participation to protect the rights of lesbians and LGBTI. Lesbians from all over the world enjoy nine days of the festival with beach parties during the day and also in sports and events. With its convenient accessibility of Mallorca, ELLA is certainly the most international of the European Women’s festivals, though last time pleasantly many Spaniards were among the 1,500 guests.   • Toronto International Queer West Film Festival – The Queer West Film Festival  is  gaining an international reputation for offering the best of independent queer cinema and the opportunity to meet filmmakers and artists, participate in workshops and panel discussions, attend galas and after parties and see unexpected performances.   • Schwules Strassenfest – For many years, the Hans-Sachs-St Festival has chosen as the motto eV individual countries or groups of countries in Europe as an object of celebration with his birthday party of the SUB. The choice fell on 2016 France. We love our big brother in the West due to many, quite different things. Some love the cheese, others wine, and again which both. Or croissants and cafe au lait, the particular type of French food enjoyment.The main reason France is for us to celebrate but the slogan of the French Revolution: nothing is more relevant today than this reputation celebrating freedom, equality, fraternity or French well Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité and to do so and hope that these basic concepts of human coexistence in each people take root and bloom.   • When is Gay Pride?

    Gay Pride or LGBT Pride is the celebration of who we are.  Pride allows us to take a stand against discrimination and violence toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people and to promote self-affirmation, dignity, equality rights, increased visibility, build community while we celebrate sexual diversity and gender variance.
