  • Fancinegay – Cine Gay y Lesbico Extremadura – The Closing Ceremony of the Seventeenth Edition FanCineGay take place at the Palacio de Congresos Manuel Rojas de Badajoz will take place on Saturday, November 15 at 22 am. The ceremony, in which FanCineGay Awards will be presented, will feature live music.   • Filmovy festival inakosti – Slovak Queer Film Festival – The Slovak Queer Film Festival is a festival for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgendered people and their families, children, and friends. Since 2007, the festival has been loosely inspired by the tradition of gay-themed festivals held in Slovakia from 1996 to 2001. Today, the Slovak Queer Film Festival (FFi) is the only LGBTI-oriented film festival in Slovakia, organized by the civic association Iniciatíva Inakosť. FFi was established as a sophisticated venue for the presentation of quality Slovak and international cinema, intended to entertain heterosexual and non-heterosexual film fans, fight homophobia and xenophobia and encourage society to discuss and address the problems afflicting Slovakia’s continually ignored LGBTI minority. Bratislava, Slovak Republic; Nov 8 – Dec 14, 2017
  • Queer Film Festival Esslingen – Starting initiated and implemented by the “Pink Onion Esslingen” of a film series, originated in the late 1980s, the Esslinger Queer Film Festival (formerly gay and lesbian film festival Esslingen), the year in early November held a week-long program in Community Cinema Esslingen and exciting to a journey of discovery through the world of current queer cinema invites.With approximately 15 long and 20 short films, the festival presents the comical, colorful, happy, musical, comic and tragic, yet thoughtful, dramatic, experimental and militant sides of queer life. Since its creation, the festival has one of the oldest of its kind in Germany, has become a fixture in the gay and lesbian festival scene and is a member of Queer Scope, the independent German composite, gay and lesbian festival. The desire to offer the public fun and exciting entertainment, accompanied by the claim of (mostly volunteer working) festival organizers to provide a forum for social engagement, debatable and challenging film culture.   • Side by Side LGBT International Film Festival – Side by Side Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) International Film Festival aims to establish free open cultural spaces in which homosexual and transgendered persons are able to affirm, question and extend their identities. We call for the elimination of all forms of discrimination and inequality based on sex, gender, sexual orientation, sexual identity, gender identity and gender expression. Through the medium of high-quality, intelligent film we seek to create a forum for discussion with society at large dismantling myths and obsolete stereotypes that continue to hamper the development of the LGBT community in Russia.   • Transgender Day of Remembrance serves several purposes. It raises public awareness of hate crimes against transgender people, an action that current media doesn’t perform. Day of Remembrance publicly mourns and honors the lives of our brothers and sisters who might otherwise be forgotten. Through the vigil, we express love and respect for our people in the face of national indifference and hatred. Day of Remembrance reminds non-transgender people that we are their sons, daughters, parents, friends and lovers.
